Mill Valley is located within 40 miles of 8 different faults.  The US Geologic Survey predicts that we face an 62% risk of experiencing an earthquake of magnitude 6.7 within the next 25 years!

It could occur while you are sleeping tonight, it could occur while you are at work tomorrow.  It could occur while your kids are at school or visiting friends.  It is your responsibility to take proactive actions to minimize your risks and to be able to take care of yourself, your family, and, likely, your neighbors for many DAYS after a large earthquake.

It is important to remember that in the 1906 “San Francisco” earthquake on the San Andreas fault, SANTA ROSA was practically destroyed!

For a serious reality check - watch these two short earthquake simulation videos, which use as their force input the actual data from the 1994 Northridge earthquake in Los Angeles.
